Halo is great for its time, last gen, it was a blast from the past, this generation, I wanted to see new ideas, but it didn't, forge is a gimmick, all my friends didn't care about.

What I mean by creating something new, I mean gameplay wise, not features wise, the core play didn't change a bit, nothing new, shoot, shoot, shoot, get close to your foe, kill him with your melee attack, Im talking about multiplayer.

Even the SP is/was/always the same, I hope Epic don't screw GeOW 2 like the Halo series.

As for it's story, it is freaking FPS, do people think it is going to be like a RPG, action or MGS4 level of story to compare with?

After almost 3 years of anticipation, they under-delivered.

Honestly folks I want MGS4 soooo bad that it's not even funny, the wait is just too much ! I feel that I should freeze myself and wake up on the day of the release. This thread is so awesome that it doesn't help but get me even more excited then I am :cry:

I went to IGN's screenshots page. Then I highlighted their thumbnail, and instead of right-click-->copy image location, I just did a right-click-->copy. Then I did a straight paste back into the GS page (did not use the little "insert image" tree icon).
So that copies IGN's thumbnail and the link to the thumbnail's destination.
Lemme know if it works for you.

I like the MGS series but im not that hyped because most MGS games are extremely short and don't have a lot of replay value and especially with the new trend of short games this generation I expect this game to be just as short as the other MGS games.Jin_the_samurai

MGS and MGS2 were kinda short, but MGS3 was a 15-hour game, not short at all for a stealth action/adventure title. Then again, I played MGS2 about 8 times, 5 times for very easy, easy, normal, hard, and extreme to get all the dog tags for the infinite ammo and stealth camo bandanas.

I think the only reasons MGS and MGS2 felt short (they each took me 10-12 hours to beat on hard difficulty) was because they were such good games and you never wanted them to end.

The Nikita was great! Especially when you were fighting Raven in that warehouse. Though, there were some moments in VR Missions where it was the bane of my existence. It would be cool to see it return as an extra weapon or something.

GJ on the weapons fuzzy, those RPG and Javelin vids were awesome. Especially that last one that was hilarious but I would be so scared if that happened when I fired it.

The one thing that I'm worried about over this game is if it's going to be too easy. Snake Eater was much easier than Sons of Liberty. MGS3's Extreme difficulty just wasn't very "extreme". It was good fun, and pretty challenging in a few areas. But overall, MGS3 was not as hard as MGS2.

I hope MGS4's Extreme difficulty is more like MGS2's. I want an insane challenge on the higher difficulties.

Anyone think MGS4 will have a European Extreme difficulty again? US will probably get it a few months later as DLC.

i agree that mgs3 extrreme was easier than mgs2 but for a first play through i think mgs3 was harder than mgs2

Good point, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. As for extreme mode, I agree, I even beat The Boss on the first try on extreme although I'd already played the game several times.

This is one Metal Gear where I think some people ACTUALLY want to play Raiden.

Yes. I hope MGSIV will allow you to do those kinds of things such as choosing who you want to kill (bosses in particular) and it would change the outcome of the story.
